Jojoba Oil Benefits and Uses

Brief History of Jojoba Oil & Benefits

Jojoba oil is derived through the cold-press method from the seeds of Simmondsia chinensis plant native to hot arid areas of the USA, including California, Arizona, and North America. The Simmondsia chinensis plant (jojoba shrub) is among the oldest cultivated species in North America. A Native American tribe named O'odham was first to discover the versatile benefits of jojoba seeds long before cosmetics companies worldwide. They created a paste from the nuts of jojoba shrub for hair care and skin care purposes. Later in the eighteenth century, the Jesuit missionaries created a cream by softening the plant's seeds in a heating process. They used the cream for nourishing skin and hair. Soon its exceptional beauty care benefits gained popularity all around the world, making it preferred in the cosmetics industry. Today, it is known as the most eco-friendly ingredient in cosmetics products and cherished for its extensive skin's health-enhancing attributes.
