We all face constipation every now and then. It is a natural nuisance that no one can escape from. But you can prevent it or find relief from it through medication, exercise, and change in habits. Constipation is defined as difficulty or inability to relieve bowel movement; it is usually accompanied by stomach pain and hard feces.

Constipation causes:
After digested food comes to the colon, water is absorbed by it, and feces is left behind. But, if the feces remain in the colon for too long, they may harden and can be difficult to pass out. Fiber and water are necessary to keep your stool soft.

The following aid in constipation:

·       A diet that is low in fiber especially diets that consist of lots of meat, milk, or cheese
·       Lack of water
·       Little or no exercise
·       Delaying the need to use the washroom

·       Some medications may cause constipation
·       Pregnancy

Natural treatment with no side effects:
Essential oils offer us an alternative to treat constipation with zero side effects and numerous other benefits. Although the Ingestion of most essential oils are not safe, so most of the benefits can be reaped through applying directly to the skin, aromatherapy, and other inhaling methods. They do so by relaxing the body, encouraging muscle contractions, removing toxins, and etc. Certain essential oils, however, need to be diluted with a carrier oil as they may be too strong to use as is.

The following oils are known for providing relief against constipation:

1.    Ginger essential oil:
Ginger oil has been commonly used to aid digestion and give relief from nausea. Yet, it can also help in relieving constipation. It helps the body release excess gas and aids in the movement of digested food.
